I have a 2010 Deere 5055D utility tractor. The temperature

Customer Question

I have a 2010 John Deere 5055D utility tractor. The temperature gauge isn't working. The wire from the temp sensor is OK and goes into a conduit headed to console. I looked at the wiring behind the console and all wires are connected to the gauge itself. Mice are notorious for chewing wires into but I didn't see this as a cause unless the wire from the sensor stops or goes into something that can be chewed by mice.
Question 1. What test can I perform on the sensor to see if it is good?
Question 2. I need a technical manual available to show the specifics of how to trace wiring. Do you know of one? Mice and rats are a problem so I will need something to refer to in the future.

Take a test wire, and go direct from sender to the same color wire on the gage to see if gage will function.
