Massey Ferguson Model 1240
I was unable to shut off the engine with ignition switch or by getting off the seat will tractor was in gear. Finally shut off fuel to kill engine.
No power to gauges, lights or ingnition switch.
Installed a brand new ignition switch; nothing changed; still no power.
Checked the fuses; all o.k.
Battery is o.k.
Any ideas? I'm no mechanic.

You are not getting voltage to the keyswitch. Look at the starter area for a fusible link, will be on the ground side of the circuit. Fusible link will look like a fuse soldered into a wire. It can be checked with a volt/ohm meter for continuity, or you can use a jumper wire, to jump across it to see if it is bad, If the fusible link is bad, you get no voltage to the key. No voltage at the key, nothing works!
