My J.D. 6300 tractors PTO will only run seconds every time

Customer Question

My J.D. 6300 tractors PTO will only run for 24 seconds every time the switch is turned on. then i must push switch down and pull it up again to get 24 more seconds. I have changed the pto speed control, pto sensor, the switch, and hyd. filter. Nothing made any difference at all. Any suggestions?

I have visually checked wiring, found nothing. Seems if it were a wire, it would either work, or not. But not for 24 seconds every time.

Thank you for that

yes that part is strange , 24 seconds

does it happen right away , or during use

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
from the first time i switch it on, for ever i suppose. I had cut hay and had to bale it after this started. I would run the baler 20 sec. stop, turn it off then right back on, and run another 24 sec. I baled 33 bales this way.

I have a J.D. lawn tractor that has a seat sensor that turns the blades off if the operator leaves the seat while they are engaged, but don't think there is a seat sensor on my 6300 farm tractor. I have had the seat off one time, and I don't think there are any wires going to it.
