I have a rebuilt engine balancer for my 3020 diesel tractor and want to know if and how it needs to be installed for proper timing. I have installed the oil pump and believe it is timed correctly. the engine is set at tdc on #1 cylinder.

I will help you with this

Timing the oil pump: Look down on the top of the oil pump drive gear with the oil filter o ring groove facing away from you.Position the vee mark so it faces toward the inside of the pump (toward the oil filter groove).Next follow the helically cut gear tooth on the back side (left) of the pump and line the bottom of the tooth with the center line of the pump shaft. With the engine crank on #1 TDC, install the pump. Install the balance block. Be sure to recheck to see the timing marks are right before installing the oil pan
