I have a John deer tractor model. the tractor will not run

Customer Question

I have a John deer tractor model. the tractor will not run It acts like it is not getting any fuel. I have checked compression each cylinder reads 100lbs or better. I did not try cranking the tractor today. The tractor has new plugs gaped .025. new plug wires and I have purchased a new coil Before I try cranking the tractor again I would like to gap the points. Manual that I have states the point gap is supposed to be .015. However I don't know if that is right any suggestions.

If you hold hand over the carburetor opening and hold while cranking, do you get gas flooding the carburetor? If not, you are not getting fuel into the carb.
