In almost all cases, it will be fuel starvation before the transfer pump.

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Make a test line from the fuel pump transfer pump inlet, back into the fuel tank filler opening for test. If engine does not falter, the problem is before the transfer pump, maybe the fitting at the first filter , where line from tank attaches!

Do you still want phone call? I was out for a while!

Does this look like your system? With the electric pump on the filter housing?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

You can cut the fuel line before the pump and filter housing, and run test, then use a piece of hose and two clamps to spice the hose.

Tried running a new line in top of tank and in a five gallon can , still the same would run for awhile but still quits, seems like once all the fuel in tank gets warm it starts cutting out. Could it be timing retard solenoid on injection pump

Does engine quit. or just loose power?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Retard solenoid will only retard fuel when engine is cold.

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Unplug it to test.

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Where did you attach your test line?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Supply side of transfer pump and in to top tank thru filling neck. Also installed new transfer pump.
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Did you replace the whole assembly or just the electric pump?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Mine does not look like the one in the link you sent. Mine is a mechanical pump and injection pump is mounted to flywheel housing
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the second picture is like mine
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

When you ran test. no change. Engine still dies back after warming up?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

That makes it a problem at the injection pump. Either the retard solenoid or the fuel shutoff solenoid .

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
same after the test. How can I determine if it's the shut off solenoid or retard solenoid
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Retard solenoid should be able to be bypassed by unplugging it or the sensor.
