Replaced orings at top of injector pump lines now kx 121 is missing and smoking also makes a pinging noise intermittently, sound like missing on 1 cylinder.

The top connections are the spring holders for the actual pumps for the injector body's.

Anytime you disturb them you take the chance of messing up the injector bushing and plunger. With this engine, 4 cylinder, with engine idling, loosen the high pressure fuel lines at the cylinder head end, one at a time. Each should make a noticeable difference. When you find the one that stops the smoke and noise, and makes no difference. That will be the one to check.

Go to it and remove the connector again, and see if all looks correct. Any shims or washers all have to be in place and not cocked to one side. Be sure everything is good, and o'ring is not damaged, then re-assemble, and check again! If no improvement the injector plunger and sleeve may have to be replaced.
