Could be the button,

Could be the starter solenoid on the side of the engine.

Could be bad battery connection.

This is a Ground to the starter solenoid.

So to ch3ecxk use OHM meter set to OHMs, put 1 lead on a ground, the other on the screw that holds the wire.

push the button down, should read 1.0 on the meter.
