Transmission in neutral? Park brake on? Foot on brake pedal? Could it be the wrong key? Can keyswitch have been damaged by someone using a screw driver on it?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Transmission is in neutral, Parking brake is on and brake pedal pressed. Correct key is being used and I looked at the ignition switch and it doesn't appear damaged?

Key going in full distance? Pull key about half way out, and turn the key in opposite direction , to see if the tumbler is out of alignment.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
The key doesn't turn in the opposite direction.

If nothing in the ignition switch, and is the right key, I assume you have oiled the key hole?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Wd 40 and spray in the hole for the key.
