VerifiedYes, pump mounted up front, just remove the inlet and outlet hoses, and the mounting bolts,and slip the pump out. Remove the drive gear from old pump to new, and re-install. New oil and filters, then you are ready to test.
Hydraulic pump may be ok, just needs a seal. The hydrostat has an internal pump too, but is not accessible without splitting the transmission. If loader and backhoe have good pressure and don't get worse with heating up, just replace the seal!

Purchased 25 year old KUBOTA tractor with home brew FEL not working. Replaced hydraulic pump and things worked ok for first few hours. Then all of a sudden pressure spiked and cracked new pump. Serviced factory PRV and installed 2nd pump. Same thing happened again. I suspect improperly connected hyd. hoses to the FEL control valve, or a stuck FEL control valve.
