I can't get the drive shaft of a new Landpride tiller to slide

Customer Question

I can't get the drive shaft of a new Landpride tiller to slide all the way onto the PTO shaft of my NH Boomer 30/40. The spring button works OK when I check it but the tiller shaft will only slide on about 1" before it meets total resistance. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. Chuck

Have you been able to attach other pto shafts to your Boomer? If so then it is probally in the tiller pto shaft. Remove the pto shaft from the tilled, and try it on another tractor shaft. It sounds like the button is not sliding far enough to have a clear path for the pto shaft. Have you looked inside the tiller pto to see if groove is clear?
