Hello, I have a 2010...

Hello, I have a 2010 Kubota B3200 that has less than 60 hours on it. Today I was using it to mow and all was good for about 30 minutes then it just died. Engine would not crank, so checked the battery and starter connections...all good with proper voltage. The safety interlock switches appear to be functioning when checked with a meter. When turning the key on there is a buzzing sound from the dash area, and the yellow glow plug heater indicator does not come on. Engine still does not crank. Will a bad glow plug relay prevent the engine from cranking ? Any ideas ? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Verified

Bad glow plug relay will keep engine from starting. It also controls the fuel solenoid at the injection pump. If the fuel solenoid does not open, you get no fuel to the injectors. For a quick check, you can remove the fuel solenoid, just behind the injection pump, and start engine. To kill engine you will have to slip the solenoid back into the hole or reach in and push on the. linkage to kill.

Hello Curtis. Thank you for your response. When I have the ignition switch in the on position I can hear the fuel solenoid click (can even feel it when I wrap my hand around the solenoid). Would a bad glow plug relay keep the starter from engaging (engine will not crank over) ?

The starter doesn't make any sound, as if circuit is open (no power or interlock). I have not tried to jump out the starter solenoid, but a bad solenoid would have not killed the engine when it was running fine.

Seems like an electrical issue (bad relay or safety interlock). One minute it was running great, then it just died like the ignition was switched off.

The tractor is in the middle of nowhere.....about 60+ miles from the

nearest Kubota dealer. and since it won't start I can't trailer it. I will have to get the dealer to send a tech here to work on it. Thought this would be a good try before doing that......

Ok, So engine is not cranking over! Glow plug relay will not affect the starting circuit. You see no safety switches or wire harness that could have been ripped off? Were you bush hogging or ??? Seems like the only thing that would kill engine would have been the fuel solenoid. But that does not explain the no start. Did you locate the pto switch under the fender and it is working? If fuel solenoid has power, jumping the starter solenoid should start the engine. That might let you drive tractor.

I'll try to jump the starter solenoid (12v to small wire on solenoid). If I can

get it to start I can at least get it on the trailer without an act of congress.
