Have 2006 Acura MDX. If it is not driven for a few days it will. We put a new alternator in Jan/Feb.

Are you saying that the aftermarket xm radio is draining the battery? If so then you would need to wire it to a power source that is only on with the ignition switch in the on position. If that is not draining the battery, then you will need to perform an amp draw test to determine the parasitic draw on the battery. This is done by connecting an amp meter in series with the battery on the negative cable. The maximum amps should be less than .05. If there is more than that, then you would need to start pulling fuses one at a time and watch the amp meter to see if the amps drop to an acceptable range. If the amps drop, then you know that is the circuit that is draining the battery. You would then need to check all the components on that circuit one at a time to see what specifically is using the power and draining your battery.

Unfortunately I do not have any recommendations. I'm not familiar with any shops in that area so I don't know their reputation. Because of that I would recommend the closest dealer because I know that they would have the proper equipment to check your vehicle.

Hi Pearl, this problem has only started in the last few day. First the ABS and TCS lights came on. The following day they went off. Then came back on. When approaching a slow turn, the transmission dropped out of gear, then re-engaged. I stopped the vehicle, then when trying to start, found the battery to be virtually flat. I got a new battery and all seemed to be fine. Two short trips later, the ABS and TCS lights came back on, then the instruments stopped registering, and then came back on. This went on for the next few miles. Within about a mile of home, the engine seemed to be losing power. I got it into the garage, and it died. The battery was flat and wouldn't restart the car.
