2013 acura mdx rides to firm with general tires at 32 psi.

Customer Question

2013 acura mdx rides to firm with general tires at 32 psi. Rides like crap!!! This tech mdx has paddle shifters. Is this a firmer sport suspension? Do i need to change tires, struts?

does it ride hard ?

how does it handle other than the ride ?

is it more so the up and or down of the ride so to say that is firm ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Handles good for a haevy suv. Back end seems to hit hard. Absolutely feel every bump. Im almost embarrased to have others ride with. Im gonna try 30 psi today. Do i need to get 17 higher profile wheel and tire or change struts?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

99 % of these type of issues are corrected with a better tire

the General tire is junk and the handling is very poor with those tires

struts will not help at all

you need to go with a brand name top name tire for a better ride on this MDX

i would try a set of Firestone Affinitys or Wide Ovals

they are set up to if you do NOT like the new tire they will take them off and try another set that you like

Firestone affinity doesnt offer a 255 55r 18. Wanna try again?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

sure thing

then try a set of destination LE2's

best bang for your buck

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are two suspension systems available, standard and active. There isn't a different level such as a sport package for either of these. The only way you'll be able to change ride feel is with aftermarket softer springs/different shocks and struts, or with higher quality tires. Personally I would recommend Michelin if you're going to upgrade tires.

How much are you looking to spend?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I just spent $35000 with warranty and am embarrassed to have passengers. I pissed about this car it ridrs like crap. Whats it going to cost to make it ride like a luxury suv should

If i lower psi to 29 besides monitoring system lights will it diengage traction control etc

I wouldn't recommend setting tire pressures lower than what is shown on the door placard, that's the pressure determined to be safe and give the best ride.

A decent set of tires for this vehicle is going to start at around $1200.
