Start by checking that the Black/Yellow wire at the alternator has battery voltage with the key on. If that checks out good, then verify that the charge light works if the key is turned on. The voltage regulator needs to ground the White/Blue wire to illuminate the charge light.

The Electronic Load Detector (ELD) circuit also has control of the alternator. To check this, backprobe the White/Green wire with a voltmeter. If the Engine Control Module is signaled by the ELD that the alternator should charge, it will not ground that circuit. When there is no ground and voltage on the wire, the alternator should charge. Here is a good tip, if the White/Green wire is removed from the alternator circuit, the charging system will operate like any other alternator.

Expert:  Amedee replied 1 year ago.

Then that means the wiring between that fuse and the alternator is an issue or the light inside the cluster is bad

Expert:  Amedee replied 1 year ago.

What do you mean?

Expert:  Amedee replied 1 year ago.

Wires dont feed the battery. The battery feeds everything else.

Here is a wiring diagram of the alternator.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  Amedee replied 1 year ago.

Hello and sorry for the delay! I had to get some sleep. From the battery to the 100 amp fuse it is a black/yellow wire. Then between the fuse to the battery it is just a black wire.
