Acura MDX: What is involved in a timing belt replacement?

Resolved Question:

What is involved in a timing belt replacement? I have a 2004 Acura MDX. My local dealership is quoting me an arm & a leg to replace it. Is there computer work involved, or is this something that can be done reliably by a non-Acura shop?

Hello I'm Paul and I will help you with an Answer to your Question

Labor to change the timing belt and waterpump is 5.1 hours at a shop.

this can be done at any repair shop I would recommend a Firestone where you have a nationwide waranty on the work.

The labor should run 510 dollars

the timing belt is 56 dollars

water pump 132 dollars

plus the cost of antifreeze and an oil change might run another 60

so you would be looking at around 750 plus taxes for the entire job

5.1 Hours labor includes both timing belt and water pump these two labors are combined for a total of 5.1 for both
