Customer Question

I have Quickbooks Pro 2009. My Dell laptop had very little space left on C: so today I bought a Seagate Backup Plus Slim to transfer Quickbooks on there for me to work on. After doing that I uninstalled Quickbooks on my laptop unknowing it would create a problem to open the program from my F: portable storage. What do I do now without losing all my info.

Hi. Great Question. I would reinstall the program on your Dell hard drive. The backup files are located under the extension - under "qbw". Make sure these files are on the Seagate hard drive. Once you reinstall the program, you can grab the qbw files from your Seagate. Unfortunately, as I also realized, you have to keep the programs on your main drive. You can keep all of the data files related to the company, etc., on the external drive.
