, my issue is that I've exported a payroll

Customer Question

hi there Richard. I'm CJ how you ?
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: my issue is that I've exported a payroll file, and had to correct some issues manually by opening it in excel and adjusting it in csv format. Once saved, it remains the original format but when trying to import it gives error 'end of record is last code of employer record and may not be followed by extra text after EOL Marker' paraphrased
JA: OK got it. Last thing — Tech Support Reps generally expect a deposit of about $18 to help with your type of question (you only pay if satisfied). Now I'm going to take you to a page to place a secure deposit with JustAnswer. Don't worry, this chat is saved. After that, we will finish helping you.

Hi there - I see the deposit has gone off my card...

Sounds like you have an extra carriage return in the file somewhere

Does it give a line number. That would be where to look for it

When I try to import it, the app says error in line 0. ????
Expert:  Robert M. replied 1 year ago.

what format did you export it in ?

something in there is either missing or extra.

can you export another one and look at the beginning of the file to see if something changed ?
