Im using TurboTax Home & Business to finalize my tax returns

I'm using TurboTax Home & Business to finalize my tax returns, and having a problem with it recognizing income properly. I'm self-employed, had 2-3 1999-MISC payments as well as routine checks during the year, and have entered them in the normal way, but the system seems to insist on classifying me as a "statutory employee," and has not calculated my ormal self-employment taxes. Any idea how to tweak their system to get the proper responses?



There is likely a box checked that the program detects for statutory employee.


You did not mention if you had any W-2.


If so, please check those items and remove the check in Box 13.


Box 13 of W-2 is the usual place that the program detects a statutory employee.


If that does not resolve the issue please return and let me know.

I did not have any W-2's, but think we've resolved the problems by changing some boxes in Schedule C... thanks.
