If you need to zero out a payment, then make a journal entry for income or expense, reflecting this.

This is going to bring the balance to zero.

the bills are an i did do a journal entry. i gave credit to the cost of goods and i debited the accounts payable and ended with a credit on the vendor total


You will as you credited the cost of goods.

Just make an receivable payment as an entry.
