Recent questions and answers

I have been having for the past 1.5 months issues with bowel movements. Urgency, in frequency, discomfort. I have been told a colonoscopy looks good and waiting on biopsy for micro colitia to come back. I do have a med to take on the morning but having a hard time managing the movements.

Hi,Welcome to JA and thanks for this question. Im sorry to hear about your symptoms. Actually since most of the causes for chronic diarrhea have been ruled out already via the colonoscopy as well as the other tests for malabsorption syndrome then it is likely that you are suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. There are a few causes which can be excluded via stool tests like fecal fat estimation and fecal elastase levels but if they have been already done then IBS is the likely cause. Now low FODMAP is a good step as it would usually control the IBS however it usually takes anywhere between 1-3 weeks to fully take effect. At the same time you should also be started on OTC probiotics like culturelle which may also help in some cases of IBS. Another thing which can be tried is to start using Rifamxin which is an antibiotics and using it for upto 3-6 weeks can be helpful in resistant cases of IBS. Yet another method would be to control anxiety and stress which are two common triggers for IBS and this can effectively reduce the frequency and urgency that you are experiencing.Psychological therapy is very effective in many cases where drugs and diet have failed, cognitive behavioural therapy, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, dynamic psychotherapy are other measures which can be effectively used to control the symptoms.I would suggest that you try the above measures and see if they help.Do you have any more questions?Please leave a POSITIVE rating by clicking on the stars above, until you do i am not compensated for my time. Hello, I'm 27 weeks pregnant and has a severe yeast infection, I was given suppositorys x7days that did not work then later given diflucan which did the trick. During this 3 week period of trying to cure this yeast infection I noticed what looks like vestibules but I don't know for sure. I have been negative for STDs and have not been sexually active since January. They are painless, lined up, finger like vestibular like structures.

Yes it is the same as terconazole. Yes, whenever you douche you are just washing away the normal bacteria. This is a major cause of recurrent yeast infections and BV. This is probably the thing that is making it hard to clear the problem. Had 6 front teeth capped. Had to have them adjusted three times this week. One side has been perfect, other side painful. Finally have relief after adjusting, but still some pain in canine and now have small swollen knot beside nose that hurts. Dentist said it's a ligament and that's what's hurting. I'm wondering if that's all.

I think I'd give it a day or two more, and go from there. Having adjustments made, as you've already had done, is NOT uncommon! And, as you now know, it often helps. You may/may not need another adjustment on the canine. But, time will tell if that is the case. With regard to the swelling/knot/ligament, it "likely" is tied in with all of the mild trauma that you and your gums and surrounding tissue have sustained. Again, I think it will likely tend to go away given a couple days more, but in the rare event that it doesn't - GO SEE YOUR DENTIST again. For the canine that also "may' need the adjustment. I sure do hope you are getting used to the new smile you have and that you are pleased. I've found that the initial getting the work done is mildly traumatizing and rough on one's tissues. But, given a week or two, thing tend to gradually get more and more , feeling like they should and you want them to... I hope this helps you. Please let me know if you have any further concerns. Currently we have two Netgear JGS524 "unmanaged " switches and I want to install a third. I'm having a hard time figuring out if I should run a cable from the patch panel to the new switch or run the rj45 from one of the current ports on the old switches to add it.

Okay, if the switches are just stock, not configured, then it shouldn't be an issue to plug one switch into another.Most networking people prefer not to "daisy chain" switches like that because it is harder to troubleshoot an issue, if one arises.From a networking persons standpoint I would say it is better to do the extra work and patch it through the patch panel so you don't run into issues later.Just remember, if you hook up one switch to another switch, you need to use a crossover cable.

Hi again,Thank you for your patience. There are a number of things that could be going on here with your puppy this evening to cause this ongoing vomiting, and we need to consider anything from an infectious gastroenteritis, to a toxicity (hopefully there isn't anything that he could have gotten into), to intestinal worms or even a foreign body obstruction. Hopefully he is up to date with his vaccinations as well, as parvo virus is the other concern here. Whatever the case, you will definitely need to continue to keep a close eye on him, and if this vomiting continues, then you will need to get him seen by your local ER or after hours vet tonight. Likewise, if he seems particularly lethargic now, you are best to try and find a local after hours vet to check him over straight away.For now, make sure he has plenty of fresh water available and encourage him to drink. The biggest concern right now is that he could become dehydrated. If he won't drink or can't keep water down, then you are best to get him seen by your local ER vet tonight where they can start him on some intravenous (IV) fluids. You can with hold his food until the morning now, and from then you can start him on a bland diet of cooked, boneless, skinless chicken breast and boiled white rice. Don't worry about getting him to eat tonight, but definitely encourage him to drink now and over night. If he isn't interested in drinking, then you could try making him up a fresh chicken broth. For this, just boil up some fresh chicken until cooked, scoop off the solids, allow the liquid to cool, then feed him this luke-warm broth.Over the next few hours, please keep a close eye on his mucus membranes, capillary refill time and respiratory rate as follows:Mucus membranes - flip his lip and look at the color of his gums. They should maintain a nice salmon pink color. Get him to the emergency Vet if they appear white or very pale pink, or if they are a dark deep red color.Capillary Refill time - this measures blood perfusion and test this by putting your thumb on his gum to apply pressure. After you release your thumb you will see the gum blanch. Capillary refill time is the amount of time it takes (in seconds) for the gum to return to a healthy pink color from the blanched white color. If 2 seconds or less don't worry - if it is taking significantly more time, again - off to the emergency Vet.Respiratory Rate - if he is continuously panting throughout the night, this is a sign of shock and or pain and a signal for a trip to the emergency Vet.Best of luck with your boy and hopefully these symptoms settle in the next few hours. As above, if he can't keep water down, seems very lethargic, or if any of the parameters above don't seem right, then definitely play it safe and get him seen tonight. Because he has vomited so many times in the last few hours, it is unlikely he has kept any water down if he has had a drink, so if he continue to vomit, then please do get him seen now.
