Driving on the Freeway requires an aggressive attitude for many reasons so that you can identify any possible hazards, speed traps, safety concerns, and other possible wayward drivers. When you are driving on a freeway the speeds are very high and the dangers can be quite numerous and many of these dangers can be unnoticed except at the last minute, and hence you need to be on alert and essentially you need to keep your head on a swivel to be able to identify any and all of the hazards using your eyes and ears, plus looking hundreds of feet in front of you and even behind you. Sometimes a car might be following you too closely and if you have to stop short, you can become a victim and hence driving aggressively can save you from being rear-ended.
When you drive aggressively you are more keen and aware of your senses, especially everything around you and hence you can see those speed traps ahead of you, and hence you can avoid getting that traffic ticket from the police as your driving might be aggressive, but it is also precise driving that will keep you safe and on the road without getting into an accident. Aggressive driving does take skill, and use of this skill will help to avoid those drivers that are not aware of their surroundings so that you can essentially predict what that driver next to you , in front of you and behind will do. Therefore, aggressive driving is more of a safety and skillful art that has positive meaning.

As a foreign student living for the first time in an American dormitory – this can be stressful, worrisome, frightening, and anxiety provoking since you are new to not only the college life, but to life in America as well. First you need to adjust to sharing a room, a dorm room with someone you might never have met before and this person might not understand you because of language differences or if you speak English, even the accent can cause a communication problem, so you do need to be aware of your surroundings, and when you talk with someone, most people will be friendly, but you might come across that one person who can cause a lot of hate and discontent adding to an already stressful environment. So, not only do you have stress of trying to find new friends, but then there is the stress of going to an University where most of the students have grown up in the culture of learning in the United States.
School in the United States can be different for many foreign students as some schools are more rigorous than others and even the classes will be different that what you might be used from home. Plus, if English is not your first language, try to understand some of the various Professors and their backgrounds with regards XXXXX XXXXX and dialects can make it challenging. Not everyone has such so called easy to listen to English as those who have grown up in California. You might have to be able to distinguish accents from those who grew up in the Southern United States and from those who grew up in the Northeast United States because to many foreigners, these accents can be difficult to understand, and this can add to the Stress of going to school in the United States and hence these difficulties in school can add to the tension of living in a dorm because you might make friends and those friends have finished studying, but you have not. And, they want to go out and have some fun, but you might not be able to, hence adding a lot of stress to your living arrangements.

A major problem for international students for taking exams is the essay portion because writing in English does not follow many of the rules of other languages, and hence when a student who is not native to the English language, the written essay can be quite problematic and sometimes more of a test of the English language than of the knowledge that the student is suppose to regurgitate from the class material itself. So, if an international student struggles with the English language not only verbally, but written as well, then many Universities to offer help to students whose language is not native English. Also, what is interesting, even those born where English is the first spoken and written language, these students also struggle with the English language as this is why is taught in schools all the way through college.
So, what can a student do to get help for expressing their ideas, thoughts and class material for writing essays? Well there are many services that Universities offer, such as ‘Centers for Foreign student’, and then there are classes too that offer offer tutoring to help, so that a student can ‘practice’ and hone their writing skills in English prior to the actual test taking that would be required for an essay writing. In addition, many professors and senior students are more than happy to offer assistance both paid and unpaid to help with foreign students as this is a way Good Will is generated between not only students, but eventually between foreign countries.

Participating in a class can be quite a problem for foreign students who are not native speakers of English. Some of the problems that might be encountered is difficult to understand the accents and pronunciation of words. Also, in some classes there might be students are closed minded, and not very understanding of the world outside of their own life, and hence foreign students might be bullied and heckled which can make for some very interesting conversation, but it does tend to put a sour test in the mind of the foreign student. But, there are some positive aspects too of having foreign students involved in class discussion because these foreign students bring some new insight and new prospective to life that a student from America might not understand or even acknowledge, so this can open a closed person’s mind to thinking what is known as ‘outside the box’.
A class discussion for example might revolve around some very controversial subjects, such as food, birth rights, governments and even war. And, a foreign student might be coming from a country that has had war on their own country’s soil, but in America for example, most students have never seen the effects of war, so this can cause a high level discussion where an international student can bring in the close and personal issues that an American student might never have even thought about. Initially, the American student might not want to listen and might give the foreign student that harsh criticism, but if the topic is presented appropriately, that foreign student might win over a friend and a country for life.
