I have recently been asked to be an usher at a friends wedding in the UK. I am not English and not sure what an usher does exactly. Do you know where I can find more info / websites? thank you
Hi,ushers are the helper of the best man. The tasks are light, mainly help the guests (i.e. finding their chair, helping the elder people, if needed, etc.) and help the groom and the best man. It is the best man's task to direct You. so, You will have to arrive to the wedding venue earlier than the other guests.Another important task might be to held a short speech on behalf of another person (i.e. father of the bride, if he is passed away yet or similar). It's not often, but it can happen, so ask the couple, if they need something similar or not.What ushers wear: it is decided by the groom. You will have to wear similar style like the groom and the best man.
