My 2006 Passat key wont unlock intermittently, rad light

My 2006 Passat key wont unlock intermittently, rad light flashes 5-6 times fast then stays on.
JA: Just to clarify, can you tell me which light it is? And does it blink first, then stay on steady?
Customer: The light on the inside door which indicates alarm is set. It flashes fast 5-6 times
JA: Are you fixing your Passat yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: New battery, and using manual key clockwise then counter clockwise while pushing lock button
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I had the car battery replaced in oct.

hey how are you

1-you will need a vw scanner or equivalent to retrieve fault codes from the anti theft modules, to see what causing it, hood switch, door switch, key circuit board , ignition switch , etc...

2-But if no scanner available , the most likely cause ,after replacing the key fob battery , I would suspect the key fob itself , losing its sync, you can do an ohm test on the switches in the diagrams i sent of the alarm system
