Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose), my normal schedule online is around lunch and after dinner past midnight.

Below are 2 files showing the CMP and CKP sensors.

Thanks for letting me help you & for leaving me a ~5 STAR EXCELLENT~rating when ready. Rating results in the website paying me from the question fee you have already paid. Although I appreciate customers saying "Thank You" that alone does not result in me being compensated if you were pleased.

Thanks Chris

I still can't find it. It shows how but not where?
Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 1 month ago.

Which one can you not find or both?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Both
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
They seem to be near
Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 1 month ago.

The CMP is in the end of the head next to the timing gears. You have the flex the belt away a little to get it out.

The CKP is behind the oil cooler.

Right side of engine? Or left? Front or behind. I'm not a mechanic
Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 1 month ago.

See if this view coupled with the others helps show the sensors better.

What happens if I don't change camshaft sensor is in a very complicated area
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Found camshaft but still can't find crankshaft and I took some parts already down are you sure of this info
Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 1 month ago.

Yes I pretty sure. The manufacturers images and repair guides are rarely ever incorrect.

I do not know what concern your trying to resolve by replacing these sensors so I can not tell you what the result will be if you do not replace the sensors.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
show me something more detailed.
I have the car in a million pieces
Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 30 days ago.

I only have the tech repair guide images, can you upload pictures of your engine and I will point out the sensors.

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
I already took it to the shop cause is not where you say
Customer: replied 30 days ago.
I dismantle the whole front
Customer: replied 30 days ago.
In the picture you sent there are some parts that doesn't match my engine. It's not the same engine. My passat is 2014 Se tsi 1.8 turbo
Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 30 days ago.

Glad you got it resolved.

Customer: replied 30 days ago.

Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 30 days ago.

Vin number sent
Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 30 days ago.

I downloaded the VW images. Once you remove all the items needed to access both of these sensors then you will be able to see them both. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90220402/1.8VW.pdf

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
That's not how the engine is set up. That's not the way the intake is. This has not been helpful at all
Expert:  Chris(aka-Moose) replied 30 days ago.

Can you get me some pictures of your engine. I have sent diagrams from VW and both of my aftermarket repair sites and so far you say none match your engine.

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
They don't match I can send pics tomorrow

Hello again Chris here,

  • Sorry you were not pleased with my help.
  • What would you like to do regarding your question now.
  • This post is coming up on the 7 day mark where it times out. When a post times out, that means it's no longer on my active list (you reply and I may never know it.)

Thanks Chris
