Customer Question

2002 Jetta I-4 2 litre, gas, auto trans, 135K miles. Insert FOB, starts and runs about 5 seconds, dies. repeat, same result. Battery - good > 10.5 v. No dash lights except red battery (alternator). Tried to reset FOB electronic to car, no change, possibly fuel pump?

After it dies, can you just start it right back up and it does the same thing again?

You may need to check fuel pressure, you should have 4.5 BAR to be able to keep running.

After it dies it can be restarted immediately, runs for 5 -10 seconds and dies. It is either immobilizer, FOB, or fuel pressure...Two places fuel pressure might be effected - fuel pump (gas tank) or EFI if that car is EFI should have control other than fuel tank...
