JA: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate?
Customer: nothing
JA: What is the model/year of your VW?
Customer: 1974
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: check all connection, try starting it hear a clicking noise then nothing
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: have battery charger hooked up and no power across the board or light

Hello, Welcome to Just Answer.

This can be one of two things. If you test for power across the battery terminals and you find no reading on your multi meter. The battery can be faulty in that one of the link connectors inside the battery has become loose and therefor their is no power at the terminals. Or the terminals on the battery is not making contact to the battery poles. To check this you can use some sand paper and clean the terminals and poles. If after you clean the terminals there is still no power then the battery is faulty and would need replacement.
