Customer Question

Need a fuse box diagram for 2013 vw Jetta tdi
JA: Have you checked the manual yet? Most vehicles have two fuse panels.
Customer: Yes, there isn't a diagram in it
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: While I was driving the cruise and windshield wipers stopped working. When I cut the car off it wouldn't start again I have checked all fuses and I'm thinking I put one back in the wrong spot
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Gear selector won't get out of park I'm stuck on a mountain in TN

Hello. Let me take a look and see if I have them for you. Is your car a GLI, sendan or sportwagen?

Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Alright. I have the diagrams for a 2012, same engine and everything. would you like them?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
I've found 2012 diagrams on the internet but the fuses aren't in same location as mine
Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Actually, the last 4 pages are the 2013 model. see if this is what you need

FUSES

Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Last 3 pages of this are also fuses for the 2013 model

ENGINE COMPARTMENT

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Ok, thanks! I'll take a look and let you know
Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Sounds good

Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

here's the fuse box locations. There are a few of them.

LOCATIONS

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
This diagram is nothing like where my fuses are located. It's telling me to put a 40amp where mine now has a 1amp
Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

there are multiple diagrams. you are looking at the correct one?

Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

make sure your looking at the correct diagram. there is an SA, SB and SC. I attached a diagram showing the locations of each of those. If you are sure your looking at the correct fuse description list and diagram for the particular fuse panel that your dealing with, then I will have to opt out and see if someone else has anything different.

Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Also, on the first link I sent you, refer to the last 4 pages of that document. the first set of fuses is for the 2011 model, the second set is for the 2012 and the last set is the 2013 model. The same goes for the second link I sent you. The last set of fuses is for the 2013 model.

Not sure..... Fuse 28 is calling for a 40 amp on all and mine has a 1 amp in it
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Are you still online?
Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Yes, I am . I am looking at them. one minute

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Ok, rhanks
Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Ok. That's what I am seeing too. what was in position 27 and 29?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
27 and 29 have 1amp
Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Ok, so you are looking at the fuse panel inside the car on the driver side. Is the 1A fuse in position 28 blown?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
No, it's not blown
Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

27 and 29 should have a 1 amp fuse based on my diagram

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
that is correct
Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Ok. Is that the only fuse that is different from the diagrams?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
I believe it had a 40amp in 49 and mine has a 20amp
Expert:  AZTechBrian replied 3 months ago.

Ok. Im not sure why that would be so I will open this up to the others. Maybe they have something different than what I have. Sit tight and hopefully someone will be along shortly with something else. Sorry about that.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Ok, thanks for trying
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Also, the gear selector won't move out of park
Expert:  gomi_otaku replied 3 months ago.

Let me have your VIN so I can look it up by the specific build data.

Also, if you can't shift out of park, that is usually an issue with your brake switch. Check and see if the brakes light up when you step on the pedal, and if the "press brake" light down at the shifter goes out.
