2004 VW touareg V8, 4.2L: Starts up fine and runs good but

Customer Question

2004 VW touareg V8, 4.2L : Starts up fine and runs good but stalls after about 2 - 3 minutes. Before this time, I used Lucas gas treatment on full tank of premium gas, took a hour and half trip. Returning from my trip, vehicle shutting off and restarts runs for a bit and stalls again. Starts up now and runs and stalls. Thanks

Hi, welcome to Just Answer. I’m Ron and I’ll be helping you
Before we get started though, Please understand that I don't know
your skill level or tools you have to assist us. Also understand that
I can't see, smell, hear, or touch the vehicle either, so patience is
appreciated. JA is a great Q/A site, but it does NOT replace a
repair shop.
My goal is to make you happy and get a great rating in return for
my time. Sometimes I have to give you bad news that I know you
didn’t want to hear, so please don’t shoot the messenger.

Okay, we need to test the fuel pressure with a gauge and also check for spark at the plugs with a spark tester. I doubt that the fuel additive hurt anything. Keep me posted.

Thanks, Ron

I am not a mechanic but I have used this service before and got the right answer to fix a problem on my 2001 Volvo S60 many years ago. so are recommending those two things are checked first before moving forward?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Are you recommending checking those two things before moving forward?
Expert:  rpmdiag replied 7 months ago.

Absolutely. We don't know what to fix yet until we do some diagnostics. Parts are expensive to replace for no reason. We want to be sure. I want this to be as painless as possible for you:)

Thanks again and please remember to rate me 5 stars and keep this link in case you need me again later on.

I will get back with you. Should in case those two things checks out fine, then what would suggest to do next?
Expert:  rpmdiag replied 7 months ago.

Let me know your results first and we'll go from there.
