2008 VW Rabbit S 5dr stick shift. Rear passenger door lock

Customer Question

2008 VW Rabbit S 5dr stick shift. Rear passenger door lock does not lock regardless of driver door switch or key fob. Door opens/closes fine.
Local auto electrical shop does not do VW but did pull codes:
01554 Motors for Central Locking Rear Doors Lock Electrical Problem in Curcuit, and
00931 Locking Module Central Locking Rear (F223) Not Plausible Signal
Does this mean module for passenger rear door needs replacement or recoding or both? How to order replacement module for existing key fob?
Nearest Tampa VW dealer 90 min away. They are not helpful...drop it off and leave it...we'll take a look.

Both codes are related. Run through the checks above and if the electrical tests out okay you have a mechanical problem with the lock assemblies and will need to be repaired or replaced. Let me know

Hi, Did you get this resolved? If so please take a moment to rate my service to close this out. Pleasure to help.

Sorry for delayed response. There was a credit card payment issue the took long time to resolve.I understand the answers you offered but not how to execute them. It appears door must be disassembled to get to module. On VW forum it appears the exterior door skin must be removed rather than the interior door panel to get to module. Then would need wiring diagram or something to figure out which wires to test. Long story short, found an independent well-rated repair shop about 30 min away that is comfortable working w/VW's and has parts source so going to them.
