Parked my 1998 vw beetle and it ran but i cant get fuel to

Customer Question

parked my 1998 vw beetle and it ran but i cant get fuel to the engine now wondering why it ran then and will not now if the fuel pump was out then did it run because there was gas in the line , and could this be also because i read the pump primes when the door is open . i had cut some wires because the window rolled down at odd times . would i have to make connections back for this pump to work again . all fuses are good . i have not located the fuel pump relay yet

i can only hear one click thinking that may be the starter relay just before the starter would engage if i had the clutch pushed in .

Expert:  Kevin replied 1 year ago.

Ok so at least this is ruled out the relay is relay 4 behind glove box

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  Kevin replied 1 year ago.

Ok i dont know how accurate my info is with uk diagrams so im gonna opt out As you really need to test inputs to relay another tech will be along shortly

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
there are relays under driver side behind panel
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
what is the number for the fuel pump relay if its located under driver side panel
Expert:  gomi_otaku replied 1 year ago.

The fuel pump relay should have a 409 on it, but first check fuse #28 in your fuse box.
