I have a 2002 vw passant the timing pully broke the car was running fine then one day it stoped I opened the hood I seen where the bolt was loose u think I messed up my heads valve stems

Yes, this is an interference engine. If the timing pulley is loose, broke or timing is out of specification. Then yes, the valve stems must have hit the piston head. Potentially destroy the engine head.
