Hi, my name is ***** ***** use a variable displacement comressor, and wont cycle like the old ones, it uses the variable displacement to run the correct pressures, does it cool good?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No - that was the problem to begin with - it does have proper charge
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
what are the pressures when running?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
40-50 low side - up to 300 high side although pressures do not stay steady at all
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Currently have idling at 1500 rpm calling for max cold - high pressure seems to only stay up 10 seconds or so at a time
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
are the lines going through the firewall cold at all?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
high pressure hot - low pressure cool (barely)
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ambient air here only about 65f air out of duct 55 - once in while a bit less
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
yes, but hw about the aluminum lines going the=rough the fire wall, are they cold?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
not really - no
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
(That's where tech was checking them before)
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
ok, then you either have a bad expansion valve, or the compressor is bad, when you say the pressures are all over the place, what does the high and low at, when idling?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
high pressure goes from 120 up to 300 (doesn't stay up very long) Just constantly going up and down
low pressure from 45 to 60
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
60 and 174 idling right now
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the 300 only happens 1500-2000 rpm
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
hello?
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
ok, then the pressures are good, and you have a bad expansion valve, the compressor is running the proper pressures, but the expansion valve is not letting it cool,Tim
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sounds reasonable - have one ordered - we'll give it a try in the morning
