Hipo64 :

Hi and Welcome to Just Answer! My name is XXXXXX, X will do my best to help you!

Hipo64 :

please stand by while i prepare the info you need. it is not hard to do it

Hipo64 :

actually I cannot get removal procedures, but I can explain.

Hipo64 :

you will need to use 16 mm open wrench spanner to compress alternator belt tensioner

Hipo64 :

use 6 mm drill bit to hold tensioner in lock position

Hipo64 :

just a minute, will send you picture

Hipo64 :

please click here to see picture

Hipo64 :

using the wrench in pointed direction from picture align both holes - see red arrows

Hipo64 :

and insert drill bit to keep tensioner in locked position.

Hipo64 :

remove belt from alternator and drop it slightly down- no need to remove it.

Hipo64 :

You can either disconnect Battery negative to avoid shorts or you can carefuly remove alternator power cable and tape it with electrical tape so it will be safe while you work.

Hipo64 :

next unclip alternator connector.

Hipo64 :

to unscrew battery positive cable from Alternator you need 13mm socket.

Hipo64 :

click here to see belt tensioner in locked position

Hipo64 :

No sure you know how to remove plastic Engine cover, there are 3 10mm nuts holding it in place

Hipo64 :

nuts are covered with plastic caps, that can be removed using small flat screw driver

Hipo64 :

just insert tip of the screw driver between cap and cover and lever it out.

Hipo64 :

please click here to see cover nuts location

Hipo64 :

Some tensioners are reached from bottom, so you will have to remove plactic cover from lower right side engine -behind front passenger tire

Hipo64 :

is your alternator on top?

Hipo64 :

once belt is removed, remove 3 screws holding tensioner and remove tensioner

Hipo64 :

next is to remove alternator bolts

Customer : Yes already removed belt and plastic cover having trouble finding a way to remove alternator bolts.
Hipo64 :

you must remove 3 tensioner bolts and remove tensioner, is it same as the picture I have sent?

Hipo64 :

please click here to see Alternator Bolts

Hipo64 :

screen show that you are typing in last 5 minutes, not sure what is going on! are you there?

Hipo64 :

I will switch to Q&A , just a minute.

Customer : Not exactly but I already have belt off so your saying I have to remove tensioner to remove alt.
