Customer Question

There is an instrument light to indicate the glow plugs are in use on my 2000 VW diesel. That same light now blinks while I am driving, even in heat that would not require the use of glow plugs. Should I stop driving this car? What should I try first to fix the condition?

Country: United States
Make: Volkswagen
Model: Beatle
Year: 2000
Engine: TDI Diesel

Already Tried:
Turning the engine off and restarting but the condition remains.

Welcome to Just Answer!!!

We have seen this issue in the past more then likely you have triggered faults in the ecm if that is the only light blinking you can drive it but have it checked asap more then likely you will have faults for a brake light switch issue these are common to cause this . i hope this helps.

Feedback and bonuses are appreciated thank you !!!

This is a totally different question and car. My wife has a 2005 Ford Focus wagon. The air conditioner is not cooling. The blower for the air conditioner does not work on the low speed but does blow on the higher speeds. The air conditioner clutch kicks in when you put the blower on the lowest speed but kicks out on any other setting. If I leave the blower on the low speed with the clutch kicking the compessor in for a few minutes, while the car is running and then change the blower to a higher speed I can feel cold air coming out of the a c vents for a short time. What is your opinion?
