Hello, I'm Jason. I will do my best to answer your question quickly and accurately using the information you have provided.
which engine? 1.8 turbo or 2.8 V6?
Hi Jason,I don't know
that makes a HUGE difference.
hour job on the V6, 5 hour job on the 1.8 4 cylinder, by a good shop
but neither requires engine removal
the 1.8T 4-cylinder does require the front subframe to be lowered
But in either case do you need to lift the engine to replace the oilpan? This is just to reassure her that the mechanic she deals with is not trying to fleece her.
on the 4-cylinder, some people do suspend/lift the engine, but I find lowering the subframe much easier
on the v6, not necessary
I checked the price of the pan on the internet and it is ~ $200 and the mechanic is indicated a bill of ~$500. Is it a realistic price?
500 parts and labor?
then, yes, that's an excellent price
