Removing

CAUTION:

  • Switch off all electrical consumers.
  • Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

  • Depress locking tab - arrow -.
  • Pull turn signal out forwards.
  • Disconnect electrical connection - arrow -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

  • Hook lamp with tab - arrow - into front bumper opening and press lamp into place so that it engages.

Removing

  • Remove turn signal and side marker light.

Disconnect electrical connection - arrow -

  • Turn bulb holder in direction of - arrow - and remove from housing.
  • Remove bulb from bulb holder.

Bulb H21 12V, 21W

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

CAUTION: Do not touch the glass portion of the bulb with bare hands. The moisture and/or grease from fingers that evaporates on the bulb during operation, can cause the glass to cloud over.

  • Check light function.

  • Remove securing screw.
  • Pull turn signal out forwards.
  • Disconnect electrical connection.

Installing

  • Connect electrical connector.

Oh, sorry, (I though you meant a front one, lol) that is listed under tail light bulb. Let me post that, again, sorry.


NOTE: Removal and installation of right rear light is illustrated. Remove and installation of left rear light is the same.

Special tool, testers, and auxiliary items needed

Trim Removal Wedge VAS 3409 (or equivalent)

Removing

CAUTION:
  • Switch off all electrical consumers.
  • Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

  • Use screwdriver to remove rear light access cover in luggage compartment.

  • Remove knurled nut - arrow -

  • Apply protective tape to area indicated - arrows -.
  • Carefully insert trim removal wedge VAS 3409 sideways under gasket as illustrated.
  • Carefully pry up housing from fender opening and remove as far as wiring will allow.

  • Disconnect electrical connections - arrows -.
Installing

Insert locating tab -3- into cutout in body - arrow -. Ensure retainer -1- engages under edge of body opening and retainer -2- engages above edge of body opening.

  • Attached knurled nut - arrow - and tighten hand tight.
  • Remove protective tape.


NOTE: Replacement of the right rear light bulbs is illustrated. Replacement of the left rear light bulbs is the same.

Removing
  • Remove rear light.

  • Turn bulb holder in direction of - arrow - and remove from housing.
  • Remove bulb from bulb holder.

Installing

CAUTION: Do not touch the glass portion of the bulb with bare hands. The moisture and/or grease from fingers that evaporates on the bulb during operation, can cause the glass to cloud over.

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

  • Turn signal bulb 12V 21W
  • Brake/taillamp bulb 12V 21/5W
  • When installing, make sure bulb holder engages in housing by turning in opposite direction shown - arrow -.

there is no round cover in the trunk only rectangle cover and behind it is wiring.
