Ok you will need to remove the headlight switch and the trim around it to get to the alarm control module you can see it behind the dashits tricky to get to if you have never done it before it will take you about a hour and a half to do . I hope this helps.

I thought this was in the trunk on the drivers side--maybe I'm wrong.

This is the central lock control module--part #1HM937045P. Other info that I looked up says that it is in the trunk encapsulated in a 2 piece styrofoam shell. This is the part # XXXXX the dealership says needs replacement. Is the alarm module on the left side of the dash a different part altogether?

When I replace this part, I assume that I need to remove the negative battery terminal. Do I leave a key in the ignition in the on position, so the alarm doesn't go off when I replace the battery? Just wanted more detail instructions on replacing the part. I know how to program the key fobs, but any additional information would be helpful. Thank you

I do not recommend plugging any module in when the key is on if the alarm goes off then use the key to disable the alarm fron the driver door lock on the drivers door . Thats all you will need to do . I hope this helps.
