2003 GTI: my trunk wont open..car works as I hear it unlocking

Resolved Question:

I have a 2003 GTI and my trunk wont open. The button on the remote or in the car works as I hear it unlocking but when i pull the handle to open it doesn't open. Any idea what this is and how much it should cost to fix? Or is it easy to DIY?

More then likely its a trunk latch every common issue. The latch itself is about $60 and the labor at a repair shop will be about $80 wich is one hour of labor . I hope this helps.
