Where is the speed sensor located and how do I change it on a 2002 VW Beetle 2.0 4cyl gasoline auto transmission?

There is not much to changing this.

Transmission Vehicle Speed Sensor -G38-
Removing and installing transmission vehicle speed sensor
  • Switch off ignition.
  • Disconnect connector from sensor.
  • Remove bolt and take out sensor.
  • Replace seal.

Installation is performed in the reverse order.

  • Tighten bolt to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.) .
