Customer Question

I'm tring to replace rear brake pads on a 2008 VW rabbit.I've tried to compress the rear brake caliper piston with no luck. I suspect the parking break mechanism in the caliper needs to be reset but don't know how. Can you help.

Welcome to just answer

You will need to turn the piston clockwise with a tool shown in the picture below. If you dont have the tool shown you can rent the tool from your local part store for a small fee remeber to turn the caliper piston clockwise. Hope this helps please dont forget to click Accept if you are completely satisfied with my answer thank you.
