i tried to start my car as normal. then it did not start and my alarm started sounding. i think i triggered some sort of panic alarm. what should i do to shut it off? (i have never seen a panic alarm button in my car-i bought it used)
Optional Information: 1998 Volkswagen cabrioAlready Tried: after the honking stopped, (after about 3 mins) i tried to start it again, and the honking persisted

what do you mean by turning over? when i tried to start the car, there was no normal ignition sounds... if that is what you mean. the hazard lights are flashing and clock and lights work. no i dont have a remote for the alarm. (i did not even know the car had any sort of alarm because i never pu one in)
