While attempting to charge the battery in my 1996 Volvo 850,

Customer Question

While attempting to charge the battery in my 1996 Volvo 850, I stupidly mixed the clamps from the charger resulting in a reverse hook-up; it lasted for approximately 5 seconds. The car nows runs fine, but the cigarette lighter, heater/AC unit, and radio/CD player will not operate... at all. Do all of them need replacing, or do some wiring harnesses need to be switched out? And yes, I have checked all of the fuses, and they all seem to be in good shape.

Do you have a digital volt meter and a test light so we can do some testing?

I do not have either.

Can you borrow them or at least get a test light? Maybe make a test light out of a paper clip, light bulb and a piece of wire?
