I have a 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T. When driving all of a sudden

Customer Question

Hi. I have a 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T. When driving all of a sudden it started missing. I used OBD reader and it showed codes P0084, P3030, P3000, P3050 and P3030. Not sure if related, but replaced left headlight 12 months ago, then again 10 weeks ago, and now off again. So not sure if its really burning out, or some electrical issue.
JA: Did you check the bulbs?
Customer: Do not know if mechanic checked bulb that was pulled. It worked after replacement.
JA: Are you fixing your S60 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I can examine and look at things here. Any major issue would go to mechanic. I took obd code readings so far.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No.

Hello again Chris here,

  • Sorry you were not pleased with my help.
  • What would you like to do regarding your question now.
  • This post is coming up on the 7 day mark where it times out. When a post times out, that means it's no longer on my active list (you reply and I may never know it.)

Thanks Chris

I am only interested in the codes as these seem to have occurred with the check engine and the car starting to run rough. I provided the info on the light, only as additional info.

P0084 Exhaust Valve Control Solenoid Circuit Bank 2

P0330 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Bank 2

P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

P0350 Ignition Coil Primary/Secondary Circuit

Will your tool also list the codes as ECM XXX? I ask because I can not find the conversion for 0084 which would be the most important to diagnose first.

Hi Chuck,
I have loaded multiple applications on phone, and some will not connect to my BAFX 34t5 bluetooth OBDII adapter. The one I do has lists the codesP0084 (store) - Exhaust Valve Control Solenoid Circuit Bank 2
P3030 (store - not 0303) - Angle Sensor 2 (on Throttle Drive 2 Power Accelerator Actuation) - G298 - Signal Too Large
P3000 (store - not 0300) - Hacking AWH DataBattery Control System
P3050 (store - not 0350) - No Description
P3030 (store) - Angle Sensor 2 (on Throttle Drive 2 Power Accelerator Actuation) - G298 - Signal Too Large
P00C4 (pending) - Turbocharger/Supercharger bypass valve "B"
C3050 (pending) - No Description
P3000 (pending)
P3050 (pending)
P3040 (pending)
P3030 (pending)
P3010 (pending)I paid for torque ap, but it would not obtain any codes. I did not see any ECM type codes, though not sure if they would be under the DTC check of the application that is working.Happened all of a sudden. No problems, then started to run rough. About 1 week before the left headlight went out again (3rd time in a year). So wasn't sure if that was connected - i.e. something electrical, or just went out by chance that quickly, right before car starts to run rough. Thanks

Sorry but I rarely end up with good results helping customers diagnose vehicles when they are using a phone app. I will opt out and see if another will be better at this than I.
