Customer Question

I have a 2001 volvo s40. The radiator developed a leak so I removed and replaced it. Now the car will not start up at all. Any Idea what I might have accidentally disconnected or damaged that I might not have bee aware during the replacement process.

Hi Im David, allow me a moment to look up some info for your vehicle ...thanks

did the vehicle overheat at anytime before you discovered the leak?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
No It did not. I noticed the leak parked the car when I got home and ordered the replacement radiator. Started the car up real quick to move the car into position for the radiator replacement. Removed the radiator and replace everything but now it will not start.

ok. now, when removing hoses, etc.... did any coolant spill on the engine?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
No. I removed the drain valve. then removed the hoses. The only coollant that spilled was on the large plug that leads to the main radiator fan. but nowhere on the engine.

ok, im going to look at the replacement procedure form the service manual. maybe see if you could have knocked something loose.........

other than moving the charge air cooler, i dont see anything, but when you spilled coolant on that fan module connector, you could have blown a fuse. so check the attached fuses.
