Having a problem with my 2009 C30 blowing air form the dash.

Customer Question

Having a problem with my 2009 C30 blowing air form the dash.
JA: How long has this been going on?
Customer: It has happen 3 times in 3 months, and now it acts this way all the time. When I first start off it works fine for a minute then the air is minimal but I can hear the fan going full blast. I can select the head direction vent and I hear it switch it's flow, then try the foot vent and hear it switch it's flow then when I just select the main torso vent it remains the same, as if it is stuck on the torso vent flow, but it is not much air coming out.
JA: Are you fixing your C30 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No I take it to a Volvo service center.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If the blower motor runs at full speed yet there is little airflow then you have a blockage somewhere in the heater box. It could possibly be a door or actuator issue but it is more likely to be something foreign such as rodent nest material blocking airflow. Removal of the heater box will likely be necessary to repair the problem.

Does changing from recirculation to outside air have an effect on air volume?
