I have a 2006 V70 2.5 T wagon with 97,000

Customer Question

I have a 2006 V70 2.5 T wagon with 97,000 miles...using/leaking (seals?) oil (quart per 3-4 weeks)....no residue on ground though. believed to be collecting in a pan of some type. Volvo dealer explains that ventilation is being clogged and oil vapors are not being properly separated , could affect the timing belt etc (yikes)..Their recommendation of repairs and estimates:
Replace and clean crankcase ventilation (found clogged/blocked crankcase ventilation) $785
Replace camshaft seal(s), front crank seal and oil saturated belt (found engine oil leak)$1225
Perform headlight restoration service (year warranty ) $99.95....Opinions thoughts please ! Shouldn't play games with oil leaks, seals, timing belts my thoughts.

Hello, I'm Brandon - Volvo tech.

The most important item I would worry about would be the clogged crankcase ventilation and the cam seal, crank seal replacement. Yes, a leaky seal can affect the timing belt and it will eventually destroy the engine. The price is a normal price for the dealership. You should also replace timing belt while they are opening the engine. The headlight restoration service is an option in my opinion.

Please rate me positive, thank you.
