Clicking from front end only while moving seems to speed up

Customer Question

Clicking from front end only while moving seems to speed up and slow with car speed... seems to be wheel related
JA: Many things can cause a car to make those weird sounds. Some simple, some complicated. Fortunately, the mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: 2005 xc70
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: Yup
JA: Great! What have you tried so far?
Customer: Just started tonight . Will pull wheels and visually check tomorrow. .. just wondering if there are any common issues suspects... does not sound like cv joints to me
JA: Is there anything else the Volvo Mechanic should be aware of about your Volvo?
Customer: Just changed struts and control arms a few months ago...
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Volvo Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Hello Im Chris and I will assist you. Is the clicking noise heard more around turns?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No... seems to go away at higher speed and intermittently return at low speeds...turns do not seem to effect it one way or another....
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Starts as light rattling then gets louder... always in proportion to wheel speed... almost like a card in bicycle spokes way
Expert:  CHRIS ZAPANTIS replied 6 months ago.
This is one of those things that Ide have to hear. Usually when a customer complains about clicking its their axles. But it does it mostly on turns.
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I was thinking drive shaft joints

Any quick tricks to rule out front cv joints?
Expert:  CHRIS ZAPANTIS replied 6 months ago.
they make a loud noise while turning. If you turn the wheel while stopped and press on the gas, if they are bad, the noise will be very loud.
