My car will crank but not start. No spartk at the coil.

Customer Question

My car will crank but not start. No spartk at the coil. After trying to crank it for a long time, it may sputter and start and it sounds perfect while it idles and drives. When I drive it for more than 5 minutes, and stop at a light, it sputters then dies. It wont start again for a long time.
I have changed the spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, ignition switch, cam shaft sensor, crank sensor, acceleration(knock) sensor, battery, ecu, starter.
I have a 1996 Volvo 850 GLT 2.4L non-turbo, standard transmission.

The problem you are describing with the loss of spark can be caused by any of the following,
Defective Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP)
Defective Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
Swapped Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Connector — Connectors swapped with the Turbocharger Control Valve (TCV)
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Main Engine System Relay 2/32
Main Engine System Relay 2/32 Wiring
Open Wiring Harness
Shorted Wiring Harness
In order to determine which is failing you are going to need to do some testing while the problem is occurring. I have enclosed the steps in the link below, copy and paste the link to your browser to open and view them.
