Hello i have a volvo s60 2002 and i started the car the other day and drove 25 meters and then the car died (low fuel light was on) so i pushed the car to the a nearest gas station and got some gas. But when i try to start the car, the starter makes a clicking sound and wont turn the motor (also this sound is above the brake and gas pedal, like the click is in the start ignition bottom). I have measured the battery and it measures 11.8 volt, and i changed the starter 2 years ago. But before all this happened (3 months ago) i noticed that when i locked the car by the remote, the lights when you lock the car dont appear, and also the rear passenger door opens after have pushed lock on the remote. Could these faiures be related? And what do you think the problem is? I suspect the immibilizer unit, what do you think? greetings from Iceland:)
Country: IcelandMake: VolvoModel: S60Year: 2002Engine: 2.4 non turbo Already Tried: measured the battery, starter is fine.
Thanks for using JA
Have you had the vehicle scanned for codes if yes what were the codes ?
No i have not had the car scanned, just says in the dashboard time for service but that has been on for a long time
Thanks for the reply.
the issue with the door isn't related, that could just be a fualty door latch.
the immobizer will not the car not to crank, so it's either a battery that don't have enough amps i know you check the volts on it but that doesn't tell you what it does under load.
fualty or bad connection at the starter , fualty starte even thought its tw years old.
last would be a fualty ignition switch
ok i will check these things today, and talk to you again if this doesnt work.
thanks.
